Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations – Regression Suite Automation Tool Workshop

About this Course

Microsoft recently announced a change in the way we deliver Dynamics 365 updates that will help all customers to stay current in a consistent and predictable manner. To test the new capabilities in these Microsoft updates or custom code, ahead of time, we have introduced the Regression Suite Automation Tool. To ensure that our customers are ready with the automated test suites that will help assess productivity and efficiency gains of the new capabilities, as well as train the end users about new capabilities, the Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations FastTrack and Engineering teams are conducting a FREE pilot RSAT workshop, EXCLUSIVELY for customers who are live on version 10.x or completed upgrading the development environment to 10.x. 

The target audience for this workshop is customer and partner functional resources, business SMEs and test managers. The workshops are 4-day intensive hands-on events, during which the participants will work through the process of recording business tasks using task recorder and converting them into a suite of automated tests and executing them onsite. 

Pre-work

The following pre-work is recommended for us to be most productive in the workshop:

• Watch the Regression Suite Automation Tool TechTalks - Background & Setup | Testing Lifecycle Demo
• Familiarize with the guidelines for recording test cases
• Deploy a 10.x cloud-hosted dev environment for installing RSAT and a Tier 2 environment for creating the task recordings
• Download the RSAT tool and user manual from here to the 10.x cloud hosted environment
• Document the business-critical test cases (to be converted into task recordings), that are needed for testing continuous updates
• Attend the pre-workshop call
  
  

Requirements

• Must be a Dynamics 365 F&O customer live on 10.x or completed upgrading the development environment to 10.x
• Must have access to customer tenant LCS and Azure DevOps (formerly known as VSTS)
• Must have Azure DevOps Test Manager license
• RSAT tool must have access to the test environment via a web browser
• Must have Excel installed to generate and edit test parameters
• Must have signed up for the Release Validation Program
• Must complete all the items in the Pre-Work section
  
  

Workshop Details

• Pre-registration via this form is required since space is limited
• Spots will be confirmed once the customer project details are verified
• Specific details on location, and detailed agendas will be communicated once spots are confirmed.
• Attendees will need to cover their own T&E and must bring along a Windows-based notebook. Breakfast, lunch, and snacks during the training will be provided
