How to import Fixed assets into AX 2012 using DIEF

In this post I would like to cover importing fixed assets feature using DIEF AX 2012 tool

Go to Data import export framework > Common > Processing group

Create New processing group.

Fixed assets processing group

Click Entities

Select the following values:

Data entity = Asset

Source format = Comma

Asset Entities Selection

Click Generate source file

Click Next

Select the list of fields that you are planning to import. We will keep only main fields useful for the fixed asset card.

Click Generate sample file

Save generated file

Sample file

Click Finish

Fill saved file by valid data

Filled sample file by Fixed asset data

Go to Data import export framework > Common > Processing group

Click Entities

Select file in the Sample file path field

Click Generate source mapping

Generate source mapping

Click Preview source file

Preview source file

Click Modify source mapping if case of errors

Click Validate

Validate Asset entity

Go to Data import export framework > Common > Processing group

Click Get staging data

Get staging data

Click OK

Job ID generation for the staging data

Click Run

Click OK

Close Infolog

Go to Data import export framework > Common > Processing group

Click Copy data to target

Copy data to target

Select Job ID and click OK

Click Run

Click OK

Close the Infolog

Go to Fixed assets > Fixed assets > Fixed assets

Fixed assets

Click Value models

Value models

Switch to the Depreciation tab
