Convergence Vs. Dynamic Communities Summit
I just got back from Convergence 2015 in Atlanta, GA. It was a great opportunity to talk with tons Dynamics users. This was my third Convergence and I hear a lot of the similar feedback from the people I end up speaking with throughout the event… there is a general lack of technical/training type sessions and the ones that are provided are often hard to get into due to space constraints of the venue. This isn’t surprising as Convergence is really more of a sales and marketing event that focuses more on why you should use products from the Microsoft Dynamics family not how you should use the products you already own.
If you’re a user or administrator and are looking for a bit more substance I encourage you to check to the Dynamic Communities Summit event this October 13-16 in Reno-Tahoe, Nevada. CRM, AX, GP, and NAV all have their own dedicated events at Summit, last year the CRMUG Summit alone had over 100 sessions. These covered a wide array of topics ranging from new and end user training all the way up to more technical subjects like custom development, ALM, SSIS and pretty much everything in-between. Last year I had the honor of presenting 4 sessions as well as participating in multiple “Ask the MVP” sessions. All the content is created and presented by Dynamics users, MVPs or Microsoft personnel with the primary focus being the product users.
I look forward to being back this year to present and lend my support. See you there!
