I wanted to get a quick blog out that gets you familiar with the new EEO report in Microsoft Dynamics GP that released in September 2019.
Base line requirements:
-You need Human Resource installed to print the report
-You need to have Positions setup with EEO information
-You need to have EEO information setup on the employee
-For the salary information, you need to have run payroll in Microsoft Dynamics GP for the time period.
How do you setup EEO to have data on reports?
- Make sure your employees have the gender information set up. Cards | Payroll | Employee | Additional Information. Along with Ethnic Origin.
- All the positions assigned to the employees need an EEO class under Tools > Setup > Payroll > Position.
- Run the EEOC Component 2 report under Reports > HR > EEO
Compensation data for Each Employee Group = Job Category x Demographic Group x Pay Band Columns:
Job Category – pulls from Position
Race Ethnicity - pulls from employee record UPR00100
Gender – pulls from employee record UPR00100
Annual Salary by Pay Band - UPR30301 (calculation Gross-TSA taxable benefits)
Total Hours - UPR30301
As with most Human Resource and Payroll reports we provide, they are considered preparation reports to help you prepare to file your returns, etc. This new EEO report is the same. If you print our report it does not look like the required report that is needed to file, but it should give you the information need to help file this report.
Tips for reporting:
1. Our report will print all employees that were paid that year. The snapshot period the customer selects is not built into this report.
2. Position is pulling from the current employee position on their card, not what they worked in the prior years.
3. We are not producing and electronic file if you want that solution, please contact Greenshades.
4. The wage pay band categories / codes are hard coding in the system and an end user cannot modify them.
5. The report is produced on the file and the actual results of the report are not stored in a specific table.
6. Annual Salary is a calculation as stated above and does not pull directly from the Edit W2 window.
7. Applicants are not included on this report as they do not have salary for the year, unlike other EEO reports where they are included.
Note: If you patch an existing install and are not logged in as user SA or Power User, the new security task is not automatically installed with the upgrade.
You may receive an error Not privileged to run this report.
Insert into SY10700 values ('RPT_PAYRL_HR01*',414,22400,23)
Run the above script against the Dynamics/System database, then an HR user should be able to run the report with their existing HR roles.
Have fun with this new report, I hope this gives you some information to get started with your testing.
Brace yourself for the upcoming W4 2020 changes, it will not be an easy year ….
Thanks
