PDF, Excel, URL can be added into Posted General Journal and Bank Statement

Dear Dynamics Lovers,

In this blog, I shall share the small and useful configuration which can make our customer happy if this is a requirement from them.

Business Value- PDF, Excel, URL, IMAGE etc. can be added into your journal even it is posted.

lets explore together.

Dynamics has out of box function to attach any file into any transactional form, however it is not possible to attach anything if this is posted transactions, we will look how we can do this.

I am checking from one of the journal entry which is already posted and we can see, the attachment to create new is grayed out.

This is in Journal batch number level and also in the line level, same behavior (Grayed out)

Steps to follow

Step 1: Go to Organization Administration -> Document Management-> Active document tables

Step 2: Make 11237 | Journal lines= Always enabled (This is for enabling creation of attachment)

Step 3: Make 12006 | Ledger Journal = Always enabled ( This is for enabling creation of attachment)

Step 4: Save-> BINGO!!

You can check the now, the adding option of attachment is enabled and can be added.

BONUS! you can also achieve this result in Posted bank statement as well.
