Using Gmail Accounts to Send email from Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations as SMTP account
Dear Microsoft Dynamics 365 Community,
Welcome to my next blog on Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations,
In this blog, we will see, how a Gmail account can be set up in the email parameter as an SMTP account and can be used to send emails from D365 Finance and Operations.
First, we need to change some security setup in the Gmail account, the documentation from google is here Setup App Password
Kindly check this video to understand the setup in detail.
[View:/cfs-file/__key/communityserver-blogs-components-weblogfiles/00-00-00-19-31/07.11.2022_5F00_15.01.08_5F00_REC.mp4:794:596]
Once the setup is done in the Gmail account, we can use the user ID as Gmail ID and the App password as the Password in Email Parameter in system administration->> Setup->> Email->> Email Parameters.
Note- Instead of using smtp.office365.com in the outgoing email server, we need to use smtp.gmail.com while using Gmail account.
The Configuration is done, we can "test connection" and it will work.
And see if emails are coming from the Gmail account as per the standard email such as workflow, alert rules, etc.
That's it for this blog, stay tuned for my next blogs.
Happy days and stay blessed.
