[New Feature] Automatic Description in fixed assets depreciation Journal

Dear Microsoft BizApps Community,

Welcome to my next blog on unboxing new features in 10.0.29 version on Fixed Asset Segment.

This feature is about “Amend fixed assets depreciation description”

Current design

The below screen shot is from 10.0.28 and below version.

Currently there is no good representation of depreciation period covered in fixed asset journal lines while creating depreciation from depreciation proposal.

Enhanced design and solution in 10.0.29

This new feature gives better representation to the automatic depreciation description text by using the format from MM/DD/YYY to MM/DD/YYYY. This feature clears the representation of the covered period for the depreciation.

Keynote- This is enabled by default from 10.0.29 version; no separate Feature needs to be enabled from feature management.

    Hello Ramit, Our D365FO version is 10.0.31, when I ran the Depreciation this automatic description is populated. But when user run, there is blank description. Can you please let me know why there is still blank description from user side? How to active this automatic Description for them?

    Currently, this feature turns on by version upgrade, there is no parameter to disable or enable this.

    yes, this looks like a half baked feature, and definitely worse than before. Our description ALWAYS default to Depreciation from 1/1/2022 - xx/yy/ZZZZ (actual date) so this is more confusing than helpful. HELP! how can I turn this nonsense off?

    Recently, our organization's Dynamics got updated to Version 10.0.29, what is so disappointed is that it makes depreciation description as default "Depr. from MM/DD/YYYY to MM/DD/YYYY" for all lines of each asset code of the journal. While we can easily setup the Default Description in "Fixed Asset - posting, ledger". The reason for the update is :"This feature gives better representation to the automatic depreciation description ..." => NO, it's not. It is just a step back compared to the previous versions. Please anyone know how to disable this updated feature in the new version, please help to advise me. Appreciate your help. Sorry if I misunderstood, please put me right. Thank you very much.
