 Please pardon our dust!

We previously announced that we were consolidating the forums on the site. While we ran into some challenges with our previous plan, we are now ready to proceed!

There are nearly 40 different forums on the site today. This can make it a challenge to determine the right place to post your question or find a topic to participate in. And as a result, we have seen a small percentage of forums that contain the majority of posts (since they are easy to select), while the remaining activity is spread thinly across the other forums.

By reducing that number, we hope to bring our experts and our help-seekers closer together!

What is happening?

We are removing 13 low activity forums from the site.

When is this happening?

Monday, Feb 26.

Does this mean my posts are going away?

No, no posts will be removed during this update. Posts from the forums that are being removed will be migrated to the new forum structure and will remain accessible via bookmarks, browsing, and search.

Which forums will be affected?

The list of the forums that will be removed is as follows:

  • Dynamics AX migration
  • Dynamics CRM migration
  • User interface community
  • Telecommunications industry
  • Healthcare industry
  • Manufacturing industry
  • Nonprofit industry
  • Media & Entertainment industry
  • Retail industry
  • Automotive industry
  • Education Industry
  • Financial Services industry
  • Microsoft Cloud for Sustainability (moved to its own community site)

What about my subscriptions and bookmarks?

  • Subscriptions to individual threads and comments are not changing.
  • However, if you have subscribed to a forum that is being removed there will be no new updates to that subscription.
  • Bookmarks to removed forums will no longer work. All other URLs are unchanged.

If you have any questions, please let us know!
