Microsoft Dynamics GP v18.6 ISV pre-release installers now available

Writing on his blog, David Musgrave stated that he recently received an email from Terry Heley from Microsoft with a link to a pre-release (ISV Drop) of the upcoming Microsoft Dynamics GP version 18.6 October 2023 release.

He noted that the download is provided to the ISV community to help them prepare for the final code when it is released. Musgrave stated that the October 2023 release has a lot of fixes as well as a number of enhancements and suggested users watch for the blog series soon to be released on the Dynamics GP Support and Services Blog.

He noted that you will be able to update the actual released build once the final code for Microsoft Dynamics GP v18.6 is released and product installers are updated.   He also advised on what Winthrop customers should do to get the latest installers.

Stuck batches and posting interruptions in Dynamics GP

Writing on the Encore Business Solutions blog, Ryan Fiorini recapped common error messages when attempting to post a batch in Dynamics GP:

  • "A batch is held in the posting, receiving, busy, marked, locked or edited status."
  • "Batch failed to complete posting. use the batch recovery window to complete the posting process."
  • "Your previous transaction-level posting session has not finished processing."

Fiorini stated that after receiving one of these error messages, the batch will usually be stuck in the status of: printing, edit required, posting interrupted, remittance processing, or others. In his blog post, Fiorini offered a basic understanding of what causes the issue and how to resolve it.
