Dynamics 365 and LinkedIn Sales Insights bring the human touch to digital experiences

Microsoft already brings Dynamics 365 Sales and LinkedIn Sales Navigator together, enabling sellers to deliver more personalized and meaningful engagement with customers.

By providing a unified view of data, Dynamics 365 Sales and LinkedIn Sales Navigator work in tandem to:

  • Empower sellers to find key decision makers.
  • Keep sellers connected to buyers.
  • Reduce sales friction.

In February, LinkedIn announced the general availability of LinkedIn Sales Insights.

With LinkedIn Sales Insights for Dynamics 365, you can expect:

  • Account planning and prioritization—with LinkedIn Sales Insights, company information can be brought into Dynamics 365 Sales to help more confidently plan and prioritize knowing the data powering your CRM is reliable.
  • Harvesting opportunities within existing accounts is simpler and far easier with integrated tools that keep a pulse on key accounts.
  • Opportunities are more accurately evaluated by drilling down into size and growth of specific company departments, functions, and job titles to more accurately size opportunities.

Microsoft Dataverse Custom API General Availability

Custom API is a new code-first approach that provides developers a better way to create APIs in Dataverse to perform operations on the server.

Power Apps | Power Apps makers fix your solution woes with smart XML Diffing

The Smart XML Diffing Tool is now available to help customers understand why issues with solution layering occur.

  • This tool aims to help with errors, missing features, unexpected functionality, etc.
  • It currently supports the Sitemap, Forms, and Model-Driven Apps
  • The tool can be found by going to Solutions within the Power Apps portal, selecting a supported component, and choosing See Solution Layers from the ellipses.  Then, select a layer and click the Compare with Previous Layer button.

Read this page on Power Apps blog for more details on the use of this tool, and how it can help you resolve multiple different solution layering problems.

Power Apps | Key ALM Updates

We announced recent improvements for application and environment lifecycle management

All solution and environment lifecycle operations are now supported for canvas apps and Power Automate along with many other ALM and automation improvements.

  • Recent ALM improvements for canvas apps:
    • Canvas apps that trigger flows no longer require editing the app to re-establish the connection to flows after importing a solution.
    • Canvas apps are now layered in a consistent manner as other types of solution components while maintaining support for restoring previous app versions.
    • Managed properties are now supported in canvas apps – meaning you’re able to control whether your apps can be customized by others.
    • Canvas apps and flows support automated deployments via service principles.
  • Recent ALM improvements for model-driven apps:
    • You can now de-activate model-driven apps. When de-activated, end users won’t see the app in the “My apps” list. This provides more control for admins and app developers. For example, a developer can ship in a disabled state and an admin can activate once ready.
    • Compare diffs between solutions layers with a rich diff viewer.
  • Solution API improvements:
    • The new solution staging API enables automation for validating the solution as well as returning required configuration for the environment variables and connection references within the solution file.
    • Asynchronous support for solution export including GitHub actions.
    • Environment variables have several new API’s that can handle complex operations within a single API call; therefore, eliminating the need for multiple, complex API calls and orchestration. As an added improvement, environment variables are now packaged in a more source control friendly format within the solution file.
    • Unmanaged to managed conversion. Unmanaged solution layers can now be converted to managed by importing a managed solution. This has historically been a problematic area; especially for customers using a single environment.
  • Environment operations now supported for canvas apps and flows:
    • Recover a deleted environment along with the apps and flows within the environment.
    • Reset an environment to factory settings.
    • Create a copy of an environment. Note that connections are not copied to other environments and therefore you’ll need to re-establish any connections when playing apps in the copy version of the environment.
    • Backup and restore an environment. Backups are automatically generated by the system and you may also create your own. If the need arises, you may restore the environment from one of these backups.

Power Apps | New in the CoE Starter Kit: Review the impact of DLP policy changes.

  • Data loss prevention (DLP) policies act as guardrails to protect information security in the tenant and help prevent users from unintentionally exposing organizational data.
  • These policies enforce which connectors are enabled for each environment and which connectors can be used together.
  • DLP policies should be one of the first things you set up as an administrator.
  • You can use the DLP Editor to observe the impact of an existing policy or the potential impact of policy changes you’re considering. You can use this app to:
    • Review whether existing policies impact canvas apps and cloud flows in your tenant.
    • Create new or change existing DLP policies and update the connector grouping in the policy.
    • See what flows or apps would be impacted by the change before you save the policy.
    • Mitigate the risk by contacting makers and informing them about the best course of action for their app or flow.

To learn more about this functionality, check out this page on Power Apps blog.

Power Apps | Dataverse for Teams | More capacity and capabilities

We are very happy to announce that we have dramatically increased the possible number of entitlements for Dataverse for Teams.

  • More environments:
    • At launch, Dataverse for Teams provided entitlements of up to 500 environments.
    • Based on the number of Microsoft 365 seats an organization has, this change will result in automatic entitlement increases of up to a total of 10,000 environments.
      • This enables customers to get up to a 20x increase in their environments and provide the ability to typically store 1 billion rows across all of them.
      • This increase is already rolling out worldwide and will be complete on 3/19.
      •  Additional details on environment entitlements can be found here.
  • More Places: Also today, customers in South Africa, Switzerland, and the UAE can now create Dataverse for Teams environments.
