Hello. I have installed the CRM 4.0 server (and other prerequisites such as SQL Server 2008) on a new Windows Server 2008 machine. I have also backed up the CRM organisation database from another deployment and restored it on the new server and imported the organisation using the Deployment Manager. I have also mapped a number of users from an old domain to new domain.
The problem I am experiencing is that when I access the CRM URL from a client machine in Internet Explorer (http://crm_server_ip_address OR http://crm_server_hostname), the Windows Authentication popup appears and I authenticate successfully via the new domain, after which I receive the 404 not found error message for the following URL which I am redirected to: http://crm_server_ip_address/myorganisation/loader.aspx. I have checked the CRM webroot which is: C:\inetpub\wwwroot\ and loader.aspx is there (its path is: C:\inetpub\wwwroot\loader.aspx). To test, I also created a text file called test.txt and added it to the CRM webroot (C:\inetpub\wwwroot\test.txt) and tried accessing it via http://crm_server_ip_address/test.txt and I can successfully see the contents of test.txt in Internet Explorer, so files located in the CRM webroot should be accessible from Internet Explorer.
I have also tried changing the port of the CRM server from 80 to 5555 by following this guide: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/947423/how-to-update-the-microsoft-dynamics-crm-web-site-port-after-you-insta, but I am still getting 404 not found errors. What could be the cause of this?
After rebooting the system, the CRM web app is now accessible.
