I've recently implemented the Personal Wall on a dashboard to show posts regarding records that our users are following.
Every user is getting an error message on their wall. Whenever a user signs in, by default, the Personal Wall displays "You do not have permissions to see this view. Contact your system administrator." When the user refreshes the view, the error message disappears and is replaced by the relevant posts.
I've checked to make sure that all users have permissions to read the Wall View. Could anyone provide some guidance on how to make sure this error message goes away permanently?
Thanks in advance,
Thank you for using Microsoft Dynamics CRM Communities. What CRM version are you using? Can you confirm that the problem affects all user including a System Admin user?
Microsoft Dynamics CRM
We're using CRM 2013 Online. The permissions issue was affecting all users. I read through some CRM blogs and found that all users' Security Roles were lacking the Read permission on the Process Configuration privilege.
However, the issue hasn't completely been resolved. When users look at their personal walls, the error message no longer appears, but posts still don't automatically load. We still have to hit refresh in order to get posts to appear.
We'd appreciate any advice.
Do they have Read permission on the Post entity? I think it's under Customizations.
Yes, both read and create privileges
many thanks for your answers and the update. I would like to make sure that we fully understand the current state.
Can you please confirm that the error message "You do not have permissions to see this view. Contact your system administrator." doesnt occur anymore after you have granded the users the Read permission on the Process Configuration privilege?
Furthermore can you please confirm that the first time the users log in to CRM and see their Personal Wall none of the post will automatically load and a fresh in the browser is needed in order to get them appear? Have you tried to clean IE chache after you have done the Change with the permissions ? If not, I recommend you to do so using the below steps and verify again the state.
1. Internet Options > Browser History > Delete > select all options here beside the Preserver Favorites website data > Delete
2. Internet Options > Browser History > Settings > View Files > Select all the filed > delete selected files
3. Internet Options > Browser History > Settings > View Objects > Select all the filed > delete selected files
4. Internet Options > Advanced > Reset Advanced Settings > Apply
5. Internet Options > Advanced > Reset...> Select "Delete Personal Settings" > Reset > Close
6. Open the Windows Explorer > Type %temp% > Delete all the files
7. Restart Internet Explorer
Please let us know if this helps.
Thank you for using Dynamics CRM Community.
CRM Support Engineer.
First share view you created for your personal wall with the users you wanted to then share the dashboard.
Hope this will help.
Have you tried setting the 'Filter' settings on the 'Custom Entities' tab in the security roles for all users? You should only need to se this to 'User' level and it should work. I had the same issue, and that's how I fixed it.
Hope this helps.
I've just had a similar issue - turns out that users need the 'Follow' privilege under the Core Records Tab set to enable this wall.
Hope this solves your issue.
I was able to resolve the issue by enabling the following:
Under "Custom Entities" in the User's Security Role.
Thanks Cheveli, this last solution was the good one for me.
I just had a similar issue and this was the only post I could find on it. Unfortunately, none of the suggestions here worked for me. I was able to figure it out through trial and error, but I wanted to add my solution to this list for anyone that may find this thread in the future.
In the Security Roles, under the Business Management tab, enable "Read" access on the Business Unit entity. I used the "Business Unit" permission level, which was the lowest possible.
I tried the above solutions with no luck, even ahthinks. The key is making sure the filter permissions under custom entities are set to user.
User permissions on the Filter entity worked for us.
Thank you! This fixed it for me. It's confusing to me why they put this under Custom Entities when it's not. Otherwise I could have found this much easier.
I am searching how to take information (only the update of some fields on the accounts and contacts) from the wall (the contact and account I am following) in order to send them by a excel sheet or a reporting to the user of the CRM.
So every user could see those information on their wall but the users wants to have a summary of only some update like the update of the field "country" if the contact I am following move to another country.
That fixed it for me - why they don't group this stuff together is anyone's guess.
This a good suggestion. Activity Feeds roles has basically all of the suggested additional to privileges mentioned in this post.
