We are exploring the use of CRM 2011 for Project Management. We have thought about creating our own entity or using an add-in application like AbleBridge. We are discussing which may be the better solution. If you have deployed either solution I would appreciate any comments on your experience. Especially tracking accounts and customers that you are working with on the project. Thanks.
It depends on how customized you want the project management solution to be.
If you can use an out of the box version it could save you a lot of time but the potential downside is it might not be customizable to your needs.
Try out some demo's and if even if you are not interested in them, they will give you some ideas on what functionality you should put into your own custom project solution.
Once you have all the requirements you could create an estimate of time and compare it with the cost of the solutions out there
