This is a strange one I came across today. Newly updated CRM from 2013 Online to 2015 Online. Suddenly they can't qualify Leads.
The button is there on the ribbon and you can click it but nothing happens. You can Disqualify a Lead no problem. When you click the Disqualify button you get the dropdown giving you the various status reason.
My name is Andrés Guzmán and I'll try to help you.
I was working in some cases related with CRM 2015 Online and Lead.
Apparently, the field Company Name is required for this process.
You need to add this field to your form and, if you don't need this field, you can leave it like read only or hide to have it but not use it.
I hope this info can help you.
Interesting Can we go in the Business Flow and delete the field Company Name?
If you had configured a new form for Leads, the 'Qualify' button doesn't seem to work upon upgrade. This seems to be a bug within the product. There should be an unused OOB (either Information or Lead). Try using the Qualify button on these screens. You are most likely to succeed. If you do, then you will have to merge the form that you currently use with the form where the 'Qualify' button works, remove the unwanted form elements and use that form going forward.
The same applies to Opportunity entity (if you have configured a new form instead of using the OOB form).
The CompanyName field is on the form already. It's actually used by this business and set as business recommended.
I have tried the original Information form already and this has exactly the same behaviour. It still doesn't work. They have 3 forms. Inforamtion, Lead (which they don't use) and a new one they created in 2013 before the 2015 upgrade which they actually use.
Have you tried this on the 'Lead' form? I'm not exactly sure if it was the information form or the lead form- surely it's one of them. That's the form you will find when you click on the 'Merge Forms' button through customizations
it works for me though, try disabling/removing clone button
Sadly neither of these suggestions work.
I tried making a copy of the form and merging the old original Information form into it. This did not allow me to qualify.
I then removed hid the clone button using the ribbon editor but this had no effect either. Still can't qualify.
It turns out this was being caused by some out of date code in a web resource.
There was a call to "gerServerUrl" which needed to be changed to "getClientUrl".
Thanks for all your help anyway.
Yes placing the company field on BPF doesn't work, it has to be placed on the Lead form for the Qualify button to work. You can either hide/display the field on the form as per your requirement.
Hi Matt - You mentioned that you went to webresource and changed the Get server url to getclienturl. Can you please share with me the detail step by step process how you did that? I am having same issue and need to follow your instructions to resolve the issue. I really appreciate your support on this
We had a specific bit of code running against the lead entity which had a call to a deprecated feature which I mentioned above. If you've not actually used this feature you this will not be your problem.
We just upgraded to 2015 and are having the same problem - not being able to qualify a lead. We already are using the Company Name field in the Lead form, so not sure what to try next. Can you lend some help? Also I saw a post of disabling the clone button - not sure what that is. If that can help, can you show me where that is?
Adding Company Name field to the lead form solved this issue for me.
Thanks for your suggestions.
