Hi, I am trying to connect my CRM On Premise (not IFD enabled) organization through Tablet App available from Good marketplace. I connect to the Good security and provide access key. As a next step, when I give my URL, say: https://mycrmorg.abc.com, I get Unauthorized: Access Denied error. I have a system admin role for the CRM org. Can you provide suggestions to troubleshoot this issue?
Did you go though this?:
In addition, the Good Dynamics admin should do the following:
1. Within the Good Control server, authorize the Microsoft Dynamics CRM for Good app for mobile users.
2. Within the Good Control server, add connection URLs to the allowed list. Any domain that the app needs to access for connection or content must be in the Allowed Domains list.
If you are using the tunneling service provided by Good Dynamics, see: Configure a Microsoft Dynamics CRM Internet-facing deployment.
3. Send users the email address and access key they will need to set up the app, or set up another secured application to act as an authentication delegate.
Hi, thanks for the reply. I have sent these questions to Good Admin team to validate. Can you let me know if IFD is the must have for on premise environment?
IFD enables access to Microsoft Dynamics CRM from the Internet, outside the company firewall, without using a virtual private network (VPN) solution
IFD is the supported approach to make CRM available to be accessed from outside though the internet.
There is people that uses other unsupported approaches to save some money but if you are using add-ons like Good or ClickDimensions, it pays to stick with IFD. The companies that develop Add-ons will be expecting IFD.
Thanks Bruno Lucas for your reply. Due to security restrictions IFD doesn't seem to work for our CRM org. Are there any available options to have native mobile App availability?
Not using IFD for external access means you need to expose your internal servers, authentication will still be sloppy with pop-ups due to external clients, I would not recommend doing external access without IFD, will give you amounts of extra work, security issues and I doubt will be stable.
Thank you .. Will get back if I need further details..
