I would like to know what is the meaning of the "Completed" Status Reason in CRM Activities. Most of Activity Entities like Email, Task, Appointment, etc have "Completed" as one of their Status Reasons.
For example, I understand what "Received", "Sent", "Pending Send" mean in Email Entity's Status Reason, but what does "Completed" mean?

Completed means the activity is completed. nothing more to do with the activity. The purpose of the activity is fulfilled.
Completed means you performed the requested action. So you complete a
Tasks by performing the requested action
Phone Call by acually calling someone
Email by accually sending it.
As a admin you have the ability to determine when a user completes an activity. So if its a phone call they might have an objective and the phone call is not complete just because they called. You might reschedule it later so you can try the objective again.

Any ideas that if I directly mark the Activity as Completed, I think it doesn't go into Completed state directly.
Because, I am updating a field using a plugin on completion of an activity and it is letting me do this. If an Activity were completed, it wouldn't let me update anything on the record.
We need to bulk update a field on activities that has the status "Completed". This results in the error message "An error has occurred. The selected action was not completed for one or more records."
Is there a work around to update fields in a status "Completed" record?
