I've installed UR6 [Server & Srs] on a CRM 2011 system, however none of the organisations have been updated. I've run the update from within Deployment Manager but get an error:
"Applying database updates to organization with name = DoosanTest20151030 Id=40e767df-007f-e511-9685-0050568d4238 failed with Exception:System.Reflection.TargetInvocationException: Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation. ---> Microsoft.Crm.CrmException: Failed to get priv user group information. k = 40e767df-007f-e511-9685-0050568d4238 privUserGroupId: 50ef0333-ecb3-4c9c-b436-7f8a37355d37, localSystemAdGuid: ade0af75-818e-4fcb-9e70-284b687e7074, Exception: System.DirectoryServices.DirectoryServicesCOMException (0x80072030): There is no such object on the server."
I have checked the organisation database for the privuserGroupId and can confirm it exists, however it does not exist in AD. I believe this to be the cause of my issue.
Does anyone how this can be resolved and whether the missing AD object can be simply be recreated, or does this require CRM server to be reinstalled?
This group must exist in AD PrivUserGroup. Do you know where other groups like SQLAccess, PrivReporting for CRM exist , do you know which OU they exist,ideally same OU should have the PrivUserGroup? You can do a search on entire directly to find it out
If you are able to see it in AD , then in CRM server do below:-
1) run -> cmd--> SET L
2) find you logon server
3) Then create a reg key "PreferredDC" in CRM server HKLM | Software | Microsoft | MSCRM.
Also, the exception System.DirectoryServices.DirectoryServicesCOMException is from AD and not from CRM
If you can restore your privUserGroup
But if not I think you need to reinstall CRM.
Thanks for the response Arpita.
From the the log file extract in my original posting it's not absolutely clear what the error is complaining about? originally I though it was because the missing PrivUserGroup, now i'm not so sure.
Would you be able to expand on what you mean by 'exception is from AD not CRM'?
Do you know which object it is referring to?
