Activities created from quick campaign are set regarding to the quick campaign.
What I would like to happen is the following:
Once the quick campaign activities have been created, I would like the regarding field to contain the Account, Contact, Lead, ect. Rather then regarding the Quick Campaign. The Account/Lead/Contact appears in the "To" field. Is there anyway to accomplish this? I have tried using a workflow and I have been unsuccessful as the field types are different and I cannot create a field like the "To" field(its OTB) to capture the information and set the regarding field as the account.
Hopefully someone can help.
I find that it is best to keep the regarding as the campaign because adding the account, contact or lead doesn't really achieve anything because you should have them in the recipients all ready so the records will show up in the activity list.
If you did want to do set the regarding you will need to do this with a custom workflow activity or plug in that requires coding.
Hope this helps
I appreciate you taking the time to answer my question.
The reason I would like the account set as "regarding" is because there is a "Last Contacted Date" field on the account forum that is populated when activities are marked complete. (by workflow)
When the activity is set regarding to the campaign, the workflow fails to run because there is no regarding to account. Besides using a custom workflow/plugin is there a way to achieve this? It doesn't have to be the regarding field.
I see you are using CRM2016 so you can use a rollup - see www.crmsoftwareblog.com/.../microsoft-dynamics-crm-2016-rollup-field-update
Hope this helps
Thank you Scott!
