What does it mean when Microsoft Dynamics CRM is said to be marketed as XRM platform?
In short it means a platform for building extended Dynamics CRM (xRM) applications.
Check out the above link and it will explain end to end. Thanks.
XRM means Extended Relationship Management. X is a variable which can be anything related to business. X is not only the Customer, it can be Employee (for office), Patient (for a hospital), Partners (for big organisations) and so on.
Hope this helps.
It means that Microsoft Dynamics CRM is not just traditional CRM application but a rich platform which you can leverage to build any domain specific application for example HR management, project management, student management ect....
xRM is just Microsoft's marketing push to get people thinking about using Dynamics CRM for more than just "Customer" Relationship Management. There is no separate product: xRM is CRM.
You may consult Tenfold for any integration issues. Tenfold is a great CTI solution that offers integration over 150 more CRM and phone systems. It's easy to set up and will only take a few minutes. They support MS Dynamics integration. You can check out their integrations list here www.tenfold.com/.../dynamics
As everyone said that XRM is for Extended Relationship Management, yes it's true. But how can you deliver it to a customer/client during a sales pitch is- you must remember the X we used to find in our Mathematics classes, always unknown or varied
Similarly, a CRM solution is meant only as a Customer Relationship Management tool like salesforce but Microsoft has marketed it as XRM because you can use the same platform as PRM Patients Relationship Management
VRM Vendor Relationship Management etc. because with tweaks and customisations we can utilise the solution in different industries even where CRM is not required like manufacturing, hospitals, hospitality etc.
