I have installed CRM 2016 SP1 on premises. It is working fine inside the network by using the link http://crm or http://crm/SSC/main.aspx where SSC is organization name. I want to know how I can make CRM accessible from outside the network or outside the office without ADF setup.
Kindly let me know what are the setup I have to do in IIS and other setup. the link should be http://crm.sscomp.ae
The supported and recommended route is to setup IFD, which requires ADFS
It is possible to expose the CRM server directly without ADFS, though this is considered a security risk, as you would necessarily have to permit AD authentication. Another issue is that, without IFD, CRM expects the same url to be used by all clients. If you use different urls, client script may not work correctly. I would also strongly advise using https if you're exposing the CRM server to the internet, otherwise all data is sent unencrypted
If you still want to do this, you'll need to setup the public DNS name, and ensure your network infrastructure (e.g. firewalls) direct the traffic to the CRM server, and also open the ports to permit AD authentication.
To avoid the issues with using different names, I'd setup the internal DNS so that crm.sscomp.ae resolves to the CRM server, and change the network addresses in CRM Deployment Manager to be crm.sscomp.ae.
To use https, you'll need to purchase a certificate for crm.sscomp.ae , install it on the CRM server, change the website bindings in IIS, and change the network addresses in Deployment Manager
i have a question
