I cannot understand how the account lookup field works. I have a lookup field for account but it cannot detect the existing account. But it can detect the existing contact. I wanted to use it to avoid having duplicate accounts but when I try using it , it's not working unless the account has a record in contact also.
Can you share some more details about entity/form so that we can help you. It seems you are referring customer lookup, sharing screenshot can help. it may be there is changes done for this lookup
I edited my post .please see attached image
Thank you Arci for providing screenshot.
I can see now it's a account lookup only so it will only display account records not contact (as you are saying- I have a lookup field for account but it cannot detect the existing account. But it can detect the existing contact.)
Just for your information if you are tyring to search account based on specific field value, then you need to make sure that field is selected under Quick Find View for account, for example if you want to search account based on it's industry field you need to select industry field under Find Columns in Account Quick Field View.
Let me know if does not answer your question.
Exactly it should display the account record if the record is already existing but like for instance I type ABC company even though it has already a record in account the system cannot detect it. It displays no record found
Ok, so you are saying it's not searching for account based on it's name, so as I said in above post can you make sure if Account's Quick Field view have Account Name selected under Field Column. (got to Settings->Customizations->Customize the system->expend Entities node->Select Account->select Views->Double click on Quick Find View ->Click on Add Find Column and make sure name is selected under fields like below.
Yes I already checked that still it cannot detect the existing accounts. I already file a ticket for this. Thank you for your help
I experience the same issue. What was the solution for this?
