I've got a problem when I'm importing a solution from our Test to our Accept environment. It's an error on a enitity relation on Account and Opportunity
"The nav pane properties for the entity relationship role 24169a73-6047-4d33-a655-a85210bf7e87 are not customizable"
It contains the relationship "opportunity_parent_account", which is created by the system, so I can't delete it.
Our Test environment is an Unmanaged solution. We made some changes on the account form. I think that the relationship between Opportunity and Account has changed while we made the changes.
However, I can not edit the settings on the Accept environment for the relationship because it is a managed solution. Not even when I choose Customize the system.
I tried the following solutions:
- Edit the relationship on Accept --> not possible
- Edit the relationship on Test. Same setting as on our Accept environment --> Still the same error
- Match dependencies for this relationship on Test and Accept --> No differences
- Delete managed solution on ACCEPT and import unmanaged solution --> same error so I need to rollback a back up
opportunity_parent_account on TEST
opportunity_parent_account on ACCEPT
I have the same problem
Did you make any changes in the forms navigation? as in did you remove any items from the navigation?
If you have removed, please try after reverting those changes
Thanks for your quick reply.
The strange thing is that I didn't change anything from the forms navigation. But on Test there is an option availlable to add navigation based on Opportunity_Account. On Accept I can't find this option.

Same here going from online v18.104.22.168 to onprem v22.214.171.124
[UPDATE] Also happens when going from online v126.96.36.199 to online v188.8.131.520
Definitely has something to do with 184.108.40.206. There is a new node node under EntityRelationship in the customizations.xml that wasn't there 2 weeks ago. If you remove it the solution will install just fine
Good afternoon Eric,
Thanks for your reply. Based on your information I've got 2 questions:
- How can I change the customizations.xml?
- Where can I follow the releasenotes and release planning for such release like 220.127.116.11?
Hopefully you can answer the questions so that I can correct this and resolve such incidents in the future by ourself.
Thanks. I followed the steps and still got a general error. I don’t see any error description
Based on your answer, I have tried a few more things with success:
- I found the releasenotes for the release at:
- Edit customizations.xlm
Step 1: I made an export from my Test environment.
Step 2: Opened the zipfile and edit the "customizations.xml".
Step 3: Saved this edited zipfile
Step 4: Imported the saved zipfile at my ACCEPT environment, with success!
I have some remaining questions:
1) How do you ensure that you stay up to date on CRM updates? I have not seen anything in the Administrator portal. Where can I set alerts?
2) Do I still have to report this problem to Microsoft?
Did you edit the right entityrelationshiprole? First I've edited the wrong entityRelationship Name..
The right one is:
Yes. After editing the solution I didn't get the opportunity_parent_account error but a general one. We are trying to import a default solution from Dynamics 365 online 18.104.22.168 to Dynamics 365 on-premise 22.214.171.124
@Geert If you have the time to deal with Microsoft support, then yes it might be worth reporting. Don't expect a quick fix, it will at least take them 1-2 months.
@Eran moving default solutions is always tricky, because of the dependency on managed solutions and etc. If you post the error i can tell you if I've seen it before or not.
Thanks. I talked with Microsoft. They proposed exporting a data base file from online to import in my on premise environment.
thanks for this
Thanks for the input.
I am deploying the crm solutions from v8.2 to V9. I am getting the same error
I tried above steps. But when I am taking the updated solution zip file its showing me an error that three files are missing customizations.xml, solution.xml and Content_type.xml
but that files are present in zip folder.
We need comment the node or we need remove that ?
Could you please help me out for the same.
@ajitsmore Comment or removing will both work.
Don't use windows explorer to update and existing solution zip file (it can change to a format that CRM can't read). Instead after you modify the solutions files create a new zip file.
I am able to resolve the problem by editing the Customization.xml and commenting out a tab <EntityRelationshipRoles> for relationship opportunity_parent_account and opportunity_parent_contact.
