Have a user using CRM 2011 outlook Client for 2011 on premise. When accessing any one of a number of entity types in the outlook client for which she has full read/write privileges via security role the view pane is blank except for a message "There was an error displaying the records in this view" . This only happens sporadically . Sometimes closing Outlook , reopening and performing same steps (ie clicking on an entity to view its records) will work fine.
Does this user have this issue for a long time or has it been happening only after some recent updates or changes to the OS or outlook? I would also check what rollup the CRM server has and also make sure latest roll-up for outlook client is installed. if this does not resolve your issue, you could remove the org configured to outlook and re-configure and see if that fixes the issue
They are on the latest rollup that was available for CRM 2011 and 2011 Client. Have been on the latest for a few years now at least. Not sure about Operating System.
