Hi All, The default webrole associated to a contact when a user is registered from CRM portal is Authenticated Web role. When i read how this is gettting associated, i got to know ,when the Authenticated Users Role checkbox is enabled,it will become the default web role for all users.But i m not able to find where the association between contact and webroles exists. The version which we are using is on-premise. We are trying to create a new web role which needs to be defaulted to the contacts. I know this is possible through a workflow but the requirement is to avoid using workflows. Can someone help me in knowing how this association works between authenticated web role and ocntacts?
do you need both OOB Authenticated and your custom Web Role to be default? or just you custom one?
if just the custom one you can simply set your one as default instead of the OOB
very odd for your requirement not allowing you to use Workflow, may I ask why this?
Web Roles are associated to the Contact record as such you will find it as Related record (you would also have a Form on Contact that was provided by adx that also has a subgrid on it).
You do not see the Web Role that is ticked as 'authenticated' associated to the Contact record. The authenticated and anonymous tick boxes only work for 1 Web Role each. The only way to get an additional Web Role is to use a Workflow or Plugin to do the association (I am not sure what the old version has - the newer version of has a custom workflow activity or action to add/remove Web Roles),
Edit: in the current version you can also associate a Web Role to the Invitation (after you save it) - this is manual by the user doing the Invitation.
Hi Oliver i was able to use my custom as default one. The client does not want workflows because of the maintenance. Hi LA, i cant use workflow but i made my custom webrole as default.
