Projects not visible in Weekly Timesheet after assigning Organizational Restrictions

After assigning organizational restrictions to a user (System administration → Users → Assign organizations), users are no longer able to select projects in the Weekly timesheet (hour journal) under certain conditions.
In our timesheets the users select project category first and then Project.
It is possible for the users to register time across multiple legal entities in the same timesheet.
All 3 project validation types are active in the process.
Ater testing “Assign organizations”, when the user selects a project category first, the Project lookup returns no results, even though the projects exist and the user has access to the projects.
This problem only exists when choosing other legal entities, not the current entity.
The same user could previously see the projects before organizational restrictions were applied
If the user selects the Project first and then the Category, the timesheet works as expected.
How can I fix this problem with organizational restrictions implemented?
We are not looking for a coded solution.

Hi Thorsten,

Can you tell if the DAT company is included in the organization assignment or not? Do you have project/category validation enabled? Can you share some screenshots to illustrate the issue?

Hi @Thorsteen ,

Please try the following approaches and check if it works : -

1) Try to select Project first and then select Project Category ( As with this approach the functionality is working fine).

2) If your business rules allows then enforce one legal entity per timesheet and inform the users to switch legal entity before entering the timesheet hours.

Ideally this should help you to build a cleaner financial control and if possible you can imply to make Project selection as first step in User training

Hi

I have tested including the DAT company in the organization assignment, but it does not make at difference.

To illustrate the problem, I have taken some screrenshots, including project parameters concerning project validation

It works fine when using current company (11) and allso when choosing the project first.

It also worked fine until we applied organization assignment.

Due to our business logic we would like to choose the Category first.

It is also not possible for us to make different timesheets for each company due to our organizational structure and business logic.

I have done some more testing with the same result.

As I mentioned earlier, when access is granted to all organizations, there are no problems.

I have tested granting access to organisations individually, where I selected all the legal entities and it is still not working.

I think this should be reported to Microsoft as a bug.
