I am trying to implement an 'on record creation' event, with the following scenario.
- User creates new record of type A
I tried to create an on change event for the 'created on' field, but got the following error.
Cannot read property 'addOnChange' of null
Like discussed in SO, doing this in server side C# plugin is the best thing to do.
Create JS function which will create record of Type B via webApi and attach function to onSave event of form of type A. Best way will be to write a flow which triggers on create record of Type A and creates the record of type B.
Best approach to achieve this would be to write flow which will trigger on creation of record A and will create a record B. This article can be referred https://community.dynamics.com/crm/f/microsoft-dynamics-crm-forum/309531/microsoft-flow-trigger-of-when-a-record-is-created-or-updated-in-dynamics-365
That's the correct way to do it, no need for plugin or JS.
you could just write a workflow on record of Type A creation to create record of Type B.
