Does anybody know if / how Dynamics CRM 2011 support 2-factor and multi-factor authentication?
CRM 2011 On-Prem = No problem.
CRM 2011 Online + Single SIgn On configured = No Problem.
CRM 2011 Online with no Single Sign on = No way.
Thanks Gus for the response. Could you direct me to any documentation that would explain the approaches in more details?
I ditto that question. We have CRM 2013 online and Office 365 and we were very excited to get multi-factor authentication. I set it up for every piece of technology we use (including Outlook 2013 and Lync 2013 with the app password) but CRM for Outlook will NOT work. I called up Microsoft and they pointed me to this forum.
Why, if Outlook 2013 and Lync 2013 are also locally installed, will CRM for Outlook not work with MFA? Is there a planned fix for this some time in the future?
We have the same Problem with Outlook Client for CRM 2013 and Mult-factor Auth.App-password is not working.
MS Support just confirmed that Multi-Factor Authentication together with CRM Client for Outlook is NOT working at the moment. It is recommend to deactivate MFA until MS Comes up with an solution for this.
Has anybody actually got this to work, that is the CRM Client for Outlook and 2-factor auth and CRM On Premise?
I can't see how this will work myself and I'm getting to the point that I am going to have to create a test environment just to provide it.
I am curious as well. I'm running a CRM 2013 On-Prem IFD Claims using a secondary saml provider on my IFD external orgs. I would like to see the specs for the MFA, along with any challenges with other directory configurations outside of AD (WS-FED 2.0) is required for Outlook.
Can you please point us to some TechNet articles or any information regarding two factor authentication.
any RSA info?
Well it looks like Microsoft have some documentation on this now, support.microsoft.com/.../2933267 & technet.microsoft.com/.../hh699760.aspx. Guess this is another reason for us to upgrade our Dynamics CRM.
