Is there any chance to recover source code of an app ?

Posted on by 64
Hi guys,

I did something stupid and by mistake, I deleted several files from my PC, including the source code of a BC extension.

The extension is published on BC environment of the client, but I can't download it.
Is there any possibility of recovering the source code?

Could I create a ticket to Microsoft?

Thank you.

    Hi There,
    (Tried in OnPrem)

As per i used New Version of 23 i have gone through some interesting thing, In that i had applied DownloadSourceCode: False. even though i can able to download the source code. For that you need to go to page inspect, from that Under Page name. you will find an action of Explore Page In VS Code. And in that you can get the source code in your project/New Project. In that you will get the project at Generate1. in that you can get the source code.
    Try out with new version.

    Thank You.

    Hi Steven

I'm using DevOps at my current company, but this customer was part of an external small project and I didn't use anything to store the source code.

Hi, if the allowDownloadingSource property is set to False, unfortunately, downloading will not be possible.

According to Erik's video, this should be downloadable using a special method. I'm not sure if Microsoft supports this operation.

    Hope this helps.
    Thanks.
