You can migrate data from Xero to Business Central, including documents from 2017 onwards, using a configuration package. However, for a more streamlined process, consider using a tool like Skyvia. It allows you to connect Xero and Business Central, map key data elements like accounts, customers, vendors, and transactions, and automate the migration with ease.
you can import documents with configuration packages but you will need to be very careful with fields that you will include in your package.
Make it simple, populate fields that will be populated when you creating documents manually. Create one document and see which fields are populated in the tables so you can make package based on that records. Keep in mind that every header record need to have a certain related number of line records.
If you are really not in need due to the law, then my advice is to start with the opening balance from this year. A fresh new beginning.
