Good news.
Although still under-utilized, benzimidazoles, especially albendazole, may have a promising future in cancer treatment. It can be used along with other drugs to prevent resistance and enhance the effectiveness of various anticancer therapies.
In order to bring this potential into practice, there is a need for more clinical trials with advanced participants, especially targeting solid and refractory tumors. Such studies can confirm the role of these drugs in cancer treatment as a part of combination therapy and possibly its role as monotherapy for certain types of cancers.
