Database Logging setup - Customer on Hold

Hi there,

Is there a way to see who changed a customer's "On hold" status on dynamics 365 finance and operations, i.e. staff 1 put them on hold, staff 2 took them off hold. I understand that the usual go to would be Database Logging, but is this possible, and if so, what module and table would I select?

Yes, it's possible to track who changed a customer's "On hold" status in D365FO, but only if Database Logging was already enabled for that field before the changes happened. Otherwise, D365FO won’t have a history of the changes retroactively.
To Enable or View Logging for It:
Go to: System administration > Setup > Database > Database log
    Click "Configure"
    Find the table: CustTable
Expand it and select the status field
If it’s already enabled, you can view logs:
Go to: System administration > Inquiries > Database log

Another option, without the use of database logging, going forward, you can  enable the workflow to streamline any critical changes on the customer master. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/finance/accounts-receivable/customer-workflow
But for the past changes, if you did not enable the workflow or database logging, you would not have a good history.

    Hi,

You try to setup the database log. Below is the guideline:

Tick Show all tables and Show table names.
Under General Ledger, tick CustTable > Blocked

    Tick Update

I appreciated all of you helping me, and I like the idea of the workflow. However, for the logging I only have these options available, naturally with their subsequent tables. Do I select one of these first?

    Hi,

It's under the General Ledger node.

I find it easier to just use the table names.

You need to select these two options "show all tables" and "show table names" and then you can search the CustTable Table.

    Best regards,
