Add Custom Font for Emails

Posted on by

How do I add a custom font to my emails in Dynamic 365 Sales?

I have been using the support ticket process with Mircrosoft but it doesn't provide any useful information and keeps taking me to this page which does not apply to Sales.
There is also this
question but as it is a few years old I hoped there might have been some developments.

Any advice welcome.

    Add Custom Font for Emails
    Hello JB-23070923-0,

Unfortunately, directly adding custom fonts to emails within Dynamics 365 Sales is not currently supported.

    Why is this the case?
    • Email Rendering Consistency: Different email clients render HTML emails differently, making it difficult to guarantee consistent font display across all platforms.
    • Security Concerns: Allowing arbitrary font uploads could pose security risks.

    Workarounds and Alternatives
While not ideal, here are some potential workarounds:
    • Leverage Web Safe Fonts:
      • Choose from a list of universally supported fonts like Arial, Times New Roman, Verdana, etc.
      • While not as customizable, you can ensure consistent display across most email clients.
    • HTML Email Templates with Embedded Styles:
      • Create HTML email templates with embedded CSS styles to control font appearance.
      • This offers more flexibility than basic formatting options but still relies on email client interpretation.
    • Image-Based Text:
      • Convert text into images with the desired font.
      • This ensures accurate display but is less accessible and harder to maintain.
    • Third-Party Email Marketing Tools:
      • Consider using a dedicated email marketing tool integrated with Dynamics 365.
      • These tools often offer more advanced font options and customization capabilities.
    Important Considerations
    • Email Client Compatibility: Test your emails in various email clients to assess font rendering.
    • Accessibility: Ensure your emails are accessible to users with disabilities.
    • Brand Consistency: Maintain consistent branding throughout your email communications.
Remember: While these workarounds can help improve the appearance of your emails, they may not provide the full level of customization you desire.
