Item Charge Assignment by Weight - Manual update of QTY. to Assign

Hi All,

We are trying to use the Item Charges Assignment by Weight function. With this method, we need to enter the Qty. to Assign field manually.

Our challenge is that there are hundreds of PO or SO lines, so entering the quantities one by one is very time-consuming and prone to errors.

Is there any way to update the Qty. to Assign field in bulk?

The Edit in Excel function is not available on this page, and copy-and-paste is also not supported.

Any suggestions or alternative approaches would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

    Hello,
in standard Business Central, you normally should not update Qty. to Assign line by line for hundreds of lines; use Suggest Item Charge Assignment and choose By Weight, then BC should distribute the charge based on the item lines’ weight. If the result is not correct or nothing is assigned, first check that the related items have correct Gross Weight values on the Item Card, because weight-based assignment depends on that setup. There is no standard Edit in Excel or copy/paste bulk update for this assignment page, so if the standard suggestion does not fit your process, the clean alternative is a small customization/custom action to populate the assignment lines automatically based on your required logic.
