CI/CD pipeline worked in D365FO

Hi team,

I am trying to understand the overall concept of CI/CD pipeline . Honestly speaking I never do configuration of CI/CD pipeline but like to understand how it worked in real world .

What I understood…

1.Developer Commited-

A developer checks in X++ code into Azure DevOps either Git or TFVC repo. This triggers the build pipeline automatically ( if it's configured).

2. Build Pipeline-

It compiles models and creates deployable package (.zip). Publishes the package as an artifact in Azure DevOps.

3. Release pipeline -

It picks up the deployable package.Used (PPAC  or LCS) to deploy into UAT.

If successful, pipeline promotes package to Production deployment.

4.Admin Role-

Admin ensures environment readiness (refresh DB, manage users).Monitors deployment status.Validates functionality post-deployment.

Is am I correct?

Pls advise, thanks
