Page footer reserving blank space on every page despite visibility expression

ReportReport
Posted on by

Hi everyone,

I am facing an issue with my report footer size. I have applied a visibility expression so that the footer content only displays on the final page. However, the blank physical space of the footer is still being reserved on every single page of the report, leaving a large empty gap at the bottom of the previous pages.

Is there a way to dynamically shrink or collapse the footer space on pages where it is hidden?

Thanks in advance!

    Hi,

Unfortunately, the report footer area has a fixed height and is reserved on every page, regardless of the visibility expression applied to its contents. The visibility setting only hides the controls—it doesn't collapse the footer itself.
If you only need content on the last page, a common workaround is to move it into the report body and use a page-break or grouping technique so it only renders at the end of the report. Could you let us know whether you're using SSRS, Power BI Paginated Reports, or Business Central report layouts? That will help determine the best approach.

    Hi

If you want to display the footer only the last page we have different options in SSRS report design where we can display the footer only in last page.

If you want to shrink the content based on the expressions, please add the footer in the report body section instead of footer section.

Also, please let us know what is your requirement based on that we can provide a suggestions.

    Thanks,
    Subra

    Hi,

In SSRS (and thus D365FO), page footers reserve their designated physical space on every page by design. You cannot dynamically collapse this blank space if you use the native Page Footer section. To print a footer only on the last page without creating blank gaps, use the Report Footer and set a conditional expression in the body.
    Please check the below URL,

    https://www.experts-exchange.com/questions/26555375/ssrs-report-footer-'pinned'-to-bottom-of-last-page.html

If the report output is being pushed to a second page despite having sufficient space on the first page, you may need to reduce the width and/or height of the report body section. Please verify that the body section's dimensions are within the report's overall width and height limits.

Kindly review these settings and let us know if you have any further questions or need additional assistance.

    Thanks
