What Duties/Privileges needed for Customer Payment Proposal

Hello Experts,

I need to create a User Role with the following 2

1. Payment Proposal

2. Settle Transactions

I have tried with different Duties/Privileges as below but still not successful

1. Approve customer payment transactions

2. Maintain open customer transactions

3. Maintain customer invoices for payment

4. Maintain customer payments

5. Approve customer payment journal

6. Maintain customer payment specifications

Can someone please help me understand which Duties and Privileges I will need for Payment Proposal

Hi,

You can use Security Diagnostics feature to know all the relevant security roles, duties and Privilege to be assigned to access particular form in D365 F&O.

Downside of using this feature is, if you allocate a particular role then it might happen that user may able to access other process which are related to that role.

Further, you can create a new role by only assigning the duty and Privilege listed here, that way you can limit access to other module and processes as well.

You actually listed the right set of Duties and Privileges that should make part of your custom role. You want to double check that the role is published and assigned to the user.

I just tested a new role with only Maintain customer payments duty and assigned only that role along "System user". This allow me to see Create payment proposal and interact with the Settle transactions button.

The privilege you need is Maintain customer payment journal transactions (LedgerJournalTable_CustPaymMaintain). It grants permissions to both CustPaymProposalCreate menu item and the ButtonSettlement control.

It's included in a single duty by default, Maintain customer payments (as Komi already mentioned).

For completeness, the duty is assigned to a single role: Accounts receivable payment clerk.

Hi

Alternatively you can use new capability from Microsoft User security governance where based on task recording of entire process you can create a role. Here is the youtube video.

Thank you experts. I have the correct Duty assigned and also verified that the role is published and assigned to the user. But the Create payment proposal is still not available and cannot interact with the Settle transactions button.

Hi,

Can you tell if you have customized or (re)configured security in your environment? The provided privileges and duties above are correct. In case there are additional privileges with deny permissions or the standard has been modified, then it can be hidden for the end user.

Are the buttons missing or disabled? It the latter, it's about business logic, not about security privileges.
