I’m working on a Dell Latitude 7480 running Windows 10
My original user account is not visible at login.
Important facts:
• Windows installation is on D:\ (confirmed in WinRE)
• User profile folder exists: cameramoniter
• Data is intact
• BIOS is functional
• Secure Boot OFF
• Legacy boot currently working
• Reset this PC (Keep files) fails
• Cloud reinstall fails
• Startup Repair unsuccessful
From WinRE I confirmed:
dir D:\Users shows Jocel
net user in WinRE does not enumerate offline users (expected)
Attempted offline registry edits:
Removed AutoAdminLogon
Removed DefaultUserName / DefaultPassword
Attempted offline SAM edit to enable RID 500 (Administrator)
No visible change at login
Current state:
System boots normally
Login UI only shows CameraMonitor
No “Other user”
No visible Administrator
No visible Jocel account
This appears to be either:
Corrupted SAM user enumeration
ProfileList registry mismatch
Login policy restricting user display
Broken DefaultUserName mapping
Goal: Restore login access to the existing Jocel account without data loss.
What is the correct method to:
Re-enable an existing local user offline?
Repair login enumeration when profile folder exists but user does not display?
Rebuild local security database without wiping OS?
Assume:
Full physical access
WinRE access
No external boot media currently
