Unable to switch between companies

Hi Community ,

I am having problems switching between companies using the available companies button (button looking like building) . Notice the tick mark next to those 2 companies .

So I created a new company test ( no data ) , and I am able to switch to this company alone .

And when I click on question mark icon . It is just showing like this , the options are not displayed (like the help and support page). I'm not sure how to proceed with this issue . Anyone has a clue what to do next . I have refreshed the page and restarted the server instance as well , tried to open in different browsers (same issue only) . This is BC24 on prem by the way . i am a super user as well .

Yes, sometimes this type of the issue happened due to upgrade.

Seems like after upgrade, the ID field in the Company Table is not filled in. My teammate has manually updated the table in SQL, and the problem is gone. We just updated the ID field with some random GUID
I'm not sure if there is some step in the upgrade process that will fill in the ID's or if this is something that must be yet officially addressed .
Use this query in SQL To generate new ID in COMPANY TABLE
-- update [dbo].[Company] set Id = NEWID() where
    [Name]='Company Name'

This problem was mentioned in BC Yammer. The current solution is to use a browser other than Chrome core, such as FireFox.
aka.ms/BCYammer: Dynamics 365 Business Central Partner Community (Formerly: Development)
More details: About Business Central partner community on Viva Engage (formerly Yammer)

    Hope this helps.
    Thanks.

Hi All , thanks for your reply , I don't think the issue is with permissions . Because I am a super user and I have not added any company in user card . Fyr

If the problem is with company setup where do I look for it .

    Thanks & Regards

    Hi,

You can switch to a newly created company (with no data) but not to the other two. This could be due to company setup or permission issues.

Please check below URL for permissions:

From experience, it is likely a permission issue. You could go to your user card and make the company column blank so you have access to all companies.
