I would like to create a random control group to test the uplift of our cross-sell efforts. I figured an easy way to do this would be to use the Audience Split journey step. Branch 1 = Control Group and Branch 2 = Test Group
The challenge: How do I use the branches to create the two groups? I'm assuming I would use a segment to confirm a contact participated in a journey, which is easy enough. I am struggling to find an attribute or behavioral filter that will allow me to determine which contacts went to branch 1 vs. branch 2. Is there a way to do this?
Or is there a completely different way to do this?
The Audience split condition is designed to be random based on number or percentage, so it's on purpose that you can't determine which contacts are directed down branch 1 vs branch 2.
If you're needing to pre-define specifically who is assigned to each branch, I would suggest adding multiple segments to your journey start instead (you can now do this as of the October update). Further information on how to set this up can be found here: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/customer-insights/journeys/whats-new-marketing). If you are unable to add multiple segments, ensure you are using the latest version of Customer Insights - Journeys.
