Can you trim down on GL default description characters

Hi,

I am using default descriptions for Purchase order invoices, and i have the supplier number, supplier name, invoice description and invoice number pulling through into the voucher.

The question is, can you trim down on how many characters you show for the supplier name to make it cleaner, for e.g. we may have a supplier called "Microsoft Limited 2025 Century Ltd", but we only want to show the first 15 Characters and therefore want to show "Microsoft Limit".

Generally its ok as i do not think we are short of characters with the GL descriptions but its to make it look tidier - not sure if i can apply a formula into the text field infront of the % etc. See below what we have the now.

Hi,

As you can conclude from the reply from Mohamed, there is no functional configuration to achieve this. Formulas are not supported here. A customization in this area would be really hard as the variables are pulled from the database with dynamic coding where at that time the table is not a named variable, but a dynamic "common" object.

In case you think you have enough available characters for the text, I wouldn't recommend the customization.
