Product attributes are not showing on the item master

I setup the product attribute types, attributes, attribute groups and assign the attribute types to the category hierarchy but when I assign the product category to the item, the product attributes is still blank. What could I be missing?

    Hy,
     
    you should assign attribute groups to prodcut hierarchy and then you can run "Populate product attribute values" in Product information management\periodic tasks.
