Hi team,

I have implementing custom business events for one of the requirements. I do research and get to know that we need

Contract class

Business evet class

End point

Download schema

Configure power automate.

Here I have question about schema.

1.the schema what it contained?

2.In Power automate, how will i use this schema?

3.What is the purpose of use this schema in Power automate?

Pls advise, thanks

Please use existing resources, such as Triggers using business event in Power Automate and Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations, to learn the basics. There is no point repeating everything here.

Come here when you still have questions after reading the article.

Hi Martin, still I have confusion on “schema” only. Previous also i posted this only.
My requirement is ““Whenever the credit limit of a customer is changed in D365FO, the business wants to send the email notifications”

So, please let me know what the role of schema here. I guess , we need to use schema as parse json in power automate flow.
Pls advise, thanks

Open the blog post.
Point 12 a 13 show the schema file, so you can see what information is there. Most importantly, it contains the list of fields that the event payload will have. When you actually follow your own steps, you can open the your schema file after you download it.
Point 14 shows how you can use the schema in Power Automate.
Power Automate then knows what data to expect and you can work with them in flows.
You should try it to see if for yourself.

Overall concept I understood already only confusion on schema .

Hi,
The schema for the payload is a json structure of data about the event. It should contain data about the event (e.g. date/time) and some identification attributes. For your scenario e.g. the customer account, user who changed). The payload should be small in size. With Power Automate, you can retrieve more details from the F&O system using the Dataverse or Fin & Ops connector.
