Adding a video element to an email

Posted on by
We have just started using Customer Insights Journeys and cannot find a way to add a video element into an email. We previously used another drag and drop editor and could add in a video, image or text element. If we selected video we would just have to add the URL of where it was hosted (ours are hosted on YouTube). But I can find no way of doing something similar in CI-J. I don't have an option to add a video element. I have found that you can add video files to the library and add them that way, but we do not want to have the videos held within CI-J.

Is the only option to add an image and then just link to the hosted video? Or should we have the option of a video element, but perhaps it is just not showing due to our settings?

Yep - you'll just need to add an image and link to video AFAIK. The previous functionality just grabbed the thumbnail image from YouTube, I guess the benefit is you can select a better thumbnail rather than the default YouTube one(?!)
