D365FO VM

Hi everyone,

Me and my friend are looking for the most cost-effective way to get hands-on practice with D365FO technical development/X++.

We don't currently have a tenant or any D365FO environments, so we'd be starting from scratch.

I've heard about the new Unified Developer Experience (UDE), where Visual Studio runs locally rather than having a traditional cloud-hosted development VM. Does this mean we can avoid the Azure VM cost?

What would be the cheapest practical setup for us where each person can have their own development environment?

Would we need a separate UDE for each person? What licenses, tenant setup and capacity would we need, and roughly how much would the full setup cost?

Are there any other options you'd recommend for learning and hands-on practice?

Thanks!
