2700 Email Addresses Deleted from Contacts Records in middle of night

Looking for some help finding what process/problem caused ~2700 contacts to get "updated" in the middle of the night without anyone purposefully triggering the update.  The only field that was changed for these contacts was the email address being deleted for the contact, and when I checked the audit history on the record, it says that my name as the person who updated it.

    Regarding 2700 Email Addresses Deleted from Contacts Records in middle of night
     
    This is related to Issue ID 5352440: Contact email addresses are removed in Dataverse and should be mitigated by now

    Issue: Contacts in Dataverse are updated with empty email address values. The update will appear to have been performed by a user who synchronizes the contact using Server-Side Synchronization.
    Additionally, contacts updated in Dataverse do not synchronize with Exchange.
     
    Mitigation: To avoid data loss in Dataverse, customers are advised to not update contacts in Exchange until the issue has been mitigated by the Exchange and Dataverse product teams. 
    Additionally, customers should avoid performing a "Test and Enable" action on the affected Dataverse mailbox records that have synchronized the affected contacts. Mailboxes that were previously disabled can be Test and Enabled.
