Updating Benefits Tables

Hi everyone,

I'm using D365 HR and having a nightmare manually updating the benefits - I have been able to download the excel to update and then publish, however when I do, the "Publish" is greyed out - I have spoken to IT and they said its NOT a user level issue and I just can't edit the table? Is there another way anyone knows?

I also worry how is Power Automate / apps going to edit the tables If I can't on a simple export / upload of excel?

Thanks in advance.

Jed

    Hi,

You can go to the design mode and add all fields, Pls click to refresh the data Publish button is enable, you can edit data directly in Excel.

    Table is Read-Only
To open the data entity in Visual Studio and check the properties of the entity:
Set IsPublic = YesEnsure the property Data Management Enabled = YesConfirm that the CRUD (Create, Read, Update, Delete) operations are not explicitly blocked on that entity.

    Power Automate and Power Apps
No, they will not face the same barrier, provided they are set up correctly.
The Excel Add-in depends entirely on the exact visual layout of your spreadsheet columns to map data. If a column is missing from your screen,
In contrast, Power Automate and Power Apps interact directly with the Microsoft Dataverse or D365 OData web APIs.
When Power Automate requests an update, it talks directly to the backend database. It automatically passes the required background keys ( RecId ) without needing a human to add them to a spreadsheet layout. As long as the service account running your cloud flows has the correct security roles, it will successfully edit and update the tables without touching the broken Excel template.
    Thanks,

    Hello,

pl check if you are using same user as in D365 and same user is login in excel.
Also check your access in system once.
