Adding a new field to PurchLineHistory table to reflect in PO confirmation journal lines

Hi Experts,
Can we please suggest me how can I add and update a new field in the Purchase order confirmation journals
The requirement is to add a reason code while confirmation of a PO and the reason code should reflect in the journals.
Would appreciate any help provided
