Customer Insights Journey - Custom channel implementation

Hi Team,

We are working on a Customer Insights Journey project for a Banking client. We have a requirement to implement PUSH notifications on the mobile App using the Custom Channel feature. We have successfully configured the Custom Channel and sent messages to the Mobile Banking services API, as well as captured the delivery status of the messages using the msdyn_d365channelnotifications API.

However, we are facing a challenge in capturing the click rates and events for the Custom Channel messages. We need your guidance on how to achieve this functionality using the available tools and APIs.

Please let us know if you have any suggestions or best practices on how to capture click rates and events for Custom Channel implementation.

    To track clicks on Custom Channel push notifications, have your mobile app send click events back to your backend, then push these events into Dataverse or Customer Insights as custom records. Combine this with delivery data to analyze engagement. Built-in click tracking isn’t available, so custom event tracking is needed.
