Hi team,Recently, I have done the mapping between DEV branch and VS workspace mapping for one of the DEV VM.I have found two major areas:Metadata folder- The source control metadata folder mapped with local AOS service.for example- $/ProjectName/Dev/Metadata Mapped K:\AosService\PackagesLocalDirectoryProjects folder- The source control project folder mapped with local project folder. for example- $/ProjectName/Dev/Projects Mapped C:\Users\username\Documents\Visual Studio\Projects
Is my mapping is correct?
Pls advise, thanks
Hi,Yes, your workspace mapping is correct.
The Metadata folder should be mapped to the local PackagesLocalDirectory, and the Projects folder should be mapped to your local Visual Studio Projects directory, as shown in your example.
PackagesLocalDirectory
Projects
Thanks for the response.
Kindly elaborate how it's work together (dev branch+VS workspace)in real world when we check-in the code.
The mapping says, for example, that files you have locally in K:\AosService\PackagesLocalDirectory will be stored in $/ProjectName/Dev/Metadata in Azure DevOps. The source control system can then say whether your local files match the state of the particular location in Azure DevOps, it'll update files in the right location when you check-in changes and so on.
If you want more details about how TFVC (Team Foundation Version Control) works, you can find them in the documentation.

Hi @CU10121822-0 Your mapping is correct and additionally you can create a new folder called VSTS in K Drive and map you projects file there instead of C drive. For example, All the pending changes will be stored in your local folder. once you do the check-in from VS it will be moved to your Devops and you can access the same in other environment as well.Kindly let us know if you need any further clarifications. Thanks,SubraIf this helped, please mark it as "Verified" for others facing the same issue
