Hi,

Is it ok that we do select for update in case of insert? Would it affect performance?

As we only need select for update in case of update

Table1 table1;
ttsbegin;
select forupdate table1 where table1.Id = '1';
if(table1)
{
    table1.Name = 'name1';
    table1.update();
}
else
{
    table1.Id= '2';
    table1.Name = 'name2';
    table1.insert();
}
ttscommit;

Hi,

Yes, it's okay to do it like that and it will not cause a performance issue. The forUpdate keyword is for updating only where the system will lock the record being updated. When the record is inserted there's no locking of the record.

There is a syntax error in your code by the way, it should be:

select forUpdate table1 where table1.Id == '1';
